Well, here’s one I don’t think I’ve ever seen in the pages of any SciFi epic, or on screens big and small. It’s funny that such a technology has been devised; after all, we all thought that completely flat touchscreens were the pinnacle of all tactile interfaces. However, I don’t think I’m alone when I say that it is rather a pain in the ass to type with my thumbs on a completely flat screen. There’s just something “better” about even the slightest of bumps. So it’s funny that the next great advancement in touchscreen technology is to bring back a raised surface.
Ooh, Touch Me Again!
I never pass up a chance to point out the prophetic nature of science fiction, so far as technology is concerned, especially when it seems like every week something imagined by authors or film makers becomes a reality. In fact it seems like there are few advances in technology that haven’t been imagined by the minds of SciFi masters.
It’s a pretty cool concept, having the versatility of a touchscreen with the functionality of a raised keyboard when necessary!
