Bizarre and beautiful, this stop-motion short film enchants with quirky narration and striking animation.  Using styrofoam figures–a technique I’ve never seen before–the characters come to life with a strange back lit quality that makes everything seem to glow from within.

What at first appears to be a “creation of the universe” story of sorts quickly darkens in tone to explore the disturbed psyche of a tormented artist.  Really quite a splendid piece of work.  Stop motion is always a delight, and this one really pushes the boundaries of the medium’s storytelling.
