Recent news that a man from Alberta would gladly accept Bitcoins instead of “real” currency for property he is selling raises the question of how close we are to the death of cold hard cash.  We at Geek Trench regularly use Intergalactic Space Rubles when making friendly wagers, a currency that regularly experiences inflation the likes of which only Zimbabwe has ever seen.  If the age of digital currency is rapidly approaching (and let’s face it, all those trillions of dollars in bank accounts around the world don’t actually have physical bills backing them up) let’s take a look at some of the most notable digital currencies from video game history as inspiration for what we might want to call the new unit of wealth when it does arrive.  I vote for Buckazoids!
