This stop-motion film from 1930 is a bit on the creepy side, but absolutely fascinating nonetheless. Being from the infancy of animation, it amazes me that stop-motion is still used to fantastic effect by modern filmmakers. Old film is so amazing because we can literally watch the evolution of something so ubiquitous today.  We can see where it came from and pinpoint pivotal figures, techniques, and personalities that have lead to what it is today…for better or worse.

In any event, this little piece of film history is worth watching, and if you’re interested, the full film (8 minutes) can be found here!
